Graduate Certificate in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis
The University of Louisville offers a Graduate Certificate in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (AABA). Online course options provide practitioners with advanced knowledge in autism research and behavioral analysis approaches to skill development and the treatment of challenging behavior in children with autism.
Autism is a complex disorder that creates a wide spectrum of communication and social-interaction impediments. The reported increase in the number of children with autism (1.47% nationwide) suggests a growing demand for qualified professionals who specialize in autism. Also, the job outlook for the next decade indicates a substantial growth in the availability of positions for behavior analysts.
The autism certificate is a post-baccalaureate program that requires applicants to have a bachelor’s degree previously earned from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and professional certification/license/other qualified experience in a field related to autism (e.g., special education, psychology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, or social work).
Courses are taught 100% online, with some courses accessed via webcam in interactive, synchronous sessions beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET or later, on specific weekdays.
