The Department of Neurological Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center (KSCIRC)- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee is committed to improving transparency of our intent, conduct, and communication. Our DEI committee involves Cardinals across the KSCIRC, PM&R, and Neurological Surgery and aims to drive grassroots change. Our goal is to ensure inclusion, diversity, and support of all staff, faculty and students through outreach, recruitment, training, and career development efforts.
We promote a diverse scientific workforce; this requires the collective efforts of research and training experts across the divisions, with a clear emphasis on mentoring and career transitions throughout the training. We are improving inclusion in academia. We want people to love their work and show respect and empathy to all.
