University celebrates Pride Week 2017
The University of Louisville has launched it's annual Pride Week with the theme "10 Years of Pride." This year the festivities include 18 events that span across 2.5 weeks. Events serve as an opportunity for LGBTQ+ and allied students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to come together and celebrate the rich diversity that exists on U of L's campus. Events take place on both the HSC and Belknap campuses and feature a broad range of educational, networking, and celebratory events. The theme this year highlights the 10 year anniversary of the LGBT Center.
Features of Pride Week 2017 include:
- Kickoff resource fair events on HSC and Belknap campuses
- Keynote speakers on HSC and Belknap campuses
- Student-led events hosted by Shades, Delta Theta Sigma Sorority Inc., HSC Pride, Queer Writers Group, and more!
- Film screenings including; Forbidden:Undocumented and Queer in Rural America, The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson, and Gen Silent
- Panel and discussion sessions; LGBTQ Christians: Making the Body Whole, Queering your Career, The Consent Conversation, and #TeamStrangeFruitPresents: House Ball Culture 101
- Pride Week Display in Ekstrom Library
