New Staff Members Energize the LGBT Center
The LGBT Center team grew exponentially this year, thanks to campus and community support and a strong institutional commitment to supporting and welcoming LGBT students, faculty and staff. Partners like the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, Human Resources, and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies helped the Center create new graduate assistantships and part-time roles, while the Medical School’s commitment has led to a new full time director leading a team there.
“Just a year ago, we were a small team of four trying to meet the needs of both campuses and all the stakeholders who request services. This year, there are 12 people working for the Center in various capacities,” said Assistant Provost for Diversity and Center Director Brian Buford. “We are so grateful for the support that has allowed us to grow.”
