Bo Xu, 2007 IMD3 Graduate Fellowship Recipient

  • Bo began his training, graduating from the East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, and then worked at the widely-regarded Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry.  In 2003, he was awarded a graduate fellowship at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, where he joined the research group of Dr. G.B. Hammond.  Bo moved to the University of Louisville with Dr. Hammond to pursue his Ph.D. dissertation research entitled, Thermodynamically Controlled Aldol Reaction: the Effect of Cation Counterion on the Retroaldol Reaction.

 

 

 

 

Bin Hong, 2005 IMD3 Graduate Fellowship Recipient

  • Bin received a Bachelors of Science degree in Polymer Engineering at Nanjing University and a M.S. degree in Materials Science at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. His dissertation research, entitled Development and Characterization of Fluorescence Enhancing Nanometallic Particle Reagent for Fluorophore Mediated, Fiber-Optic, Multi-Analyte Sensors is conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Kyung Kang. Bin Hong graduated and received the Guy Stevenson Award at the December 2006 Graduation, which is the highest award given to Ph.D. students at the University of Louisville.
