Team Impact Award
As the saying goes, teamwork makes the dream work. Behind every great accomplishment at the University of Louisville is a team of dedicated employees who worked collaboratively to realize their vision. Who has inspired you as a dream team? Show them they have made a difference with a nomination.
Award Overview & Criteria
The nomination period for this award is from December 1 to February 15 each year.
Who can nominate someone?
Anyone in the university community, including co-workers, supervisors, faculty, staff, and students can submit a nomination. For this award, the nominator can be part of the team.
Who can be nominated?
Groups of regular, full, and part-time UofL staff and faculty are eligible. Teams are defined as at least two employees who are working together on a common goal. A team could be a unit within one department, several units within a division, or two or more departments that have worked together to achieve a goal.
Nomination Form Requirements
All requested fields must be completed in the nomination form for consideration. Include as much detail as possible and provide real-world examples that showcase the nominee's impact; specific stories and achievements can truly highlight their contributions and make your nomination stand out!
Additional letters of support can be included but are not required. If you are aware the multiple people would like to nominate the same person, you are encouraged to submit one nomination but include additional letters of support combined in a PDF via the upload document field.
Number of Award Recipients
One team is chosen each year.
Selection Criteria
A selection committee of peers will review each nomination and provide their recommended winner(s). Recipients of this award must demonstrate outstanding performance and result due to group achievement. Examples of achievements include:
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Achieving cost savings
- Achieving time savings
- Implementing creative ideas
- Maintaining high safety records
- Combining talents of traditionally separate units
- Actively demonstrating a willingness to encourage teamwork in the workplace
- Nominations should include:
- Ways the team has demonstrated one or more of the Cardinal Principles
- Tangible outcomes that have resulted from the team's efforts
What Winners Receive
Once winners are selected, they will be notified via email. They will receive:
- An engraved glass award
- Recognition in UofL Today
- A highlight on the Employee Success Center website
- Recognition at the Annual Presidential Excellence Reception

Submit a nomination
Nomination forms can be submitted via this webpage beginning in January, with a deadline of February 15, 2025. You can begin preparing now. You will be asked to submit answers to the following questions. Include as much detail as possible and provide real-world examples that showcase the nominee's impact; specific stories and achievements can truly highlight their contributions and make your nomination stand out!
- Briefly describe (in 150 words or less) why you feel this team should be considered for a Team Impact Award
- Describe how the team has demonstrated outstanding performances and results due to group achievement. Examples include delivering exceptional customer service, cost savings, time savings, creative ideas, maintaining high safety records, combining talents of traditionally separate units, and actively demonstrating by example a willingness to encourage teamwork in the workplace.
- Describe any tangible outcomes that have resulted from the team’s effort
- Provide examples of how this team has demonstrated one or more of the Cardinal Principles
