• Understand the role of dangerous associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) in inflammation during heart failure
• Identify the deleterious DAMPs and study whether reducing there immunogenicity could improve cardiac function

Peripheral Arterial Disease

• Whether improving glycolysis in skeletal muscle could enhance angiogenesis in the ischemic skeletal muscle
• Whether histidyl dipeptide supplementation in peripheral arterial disease patients could improve walking ability

Muscle Wasting

• Understand the mechanisms by which heart failure leads to muscle wasting
• Determine whether improving muscle function could improve cardiac function during heart failure
