If your financial aid award exceeds all charges for the term, you could be issued a refund. You will be notified through your UofL email address if one has been issued to you. Refunds can be expected no earlier than 5-7 days after the disbursement of your financial aid.

In accordance with U.S. Department of Education regulations on federal financial aid, the Bursar’s Office treats each academic year individually. This means that financial aid received for an academic year must be used to credit only that year, with any excess sent out as a refund. It is important to note that if your account has a balance from prior term charges; it is your responsibility to cover this balance with your refund or another funding source prior to registering for the following term. In addition, if you drop classes from your schedule or withdraw from the university, you may have to repay some or all of your refund.

All About Refunds

Do not discard your UofL personal refund code.

You will receive your BankMobile Personal Code in the mail shortly after you register for classes in your first semester at the University of Louisville. The Personal Code will be mailed to your current address on file with the university. If your initial code is mailed to the wrong address, please contact the Bursar’s Office.

Please visit and use your Personal Code to select your refund preference with BankMobile. Even if you do not receive financial aid, you may be eligible to receive a refund from the University of Louisville. For example, if you drop a class or if you withdraw during the drop/add period, you may be eligible for a refund.

The University does NOT issue refund checks, so students must access the website and choose an option for receiving any tuition account refunds.

At this time, only students can sign up, therefore all refunds from Parent Plus loans will be mailed to the borrowing parent directly to the permanent address on file.

International Students – The UofL BankMobile personal code cannot be mailed to an address outside of the United States. Please log into ULink and provide a U.S. mailing address. After updating your information, contact the Bursar’s office to ensure a code is sent to the correct address.
