Charles A. Grosscurth Intellectual Property Law Chair

School of Law

Established May 2001

This chair was established through matching funds from Kentucky’s Research Challenge Trust Fund, as a result of a $12.5 million bequest from Charles A. and Theresa U. Grosscurth . This is the largest estate gift in the university’s history. The chair is focused on research in the field of intellectual policy.

The Grosscurth’s bequest form an endowment that supports scholarships for doctoral students enrolled in the J.B. Speed School of Engineering. The matching funds, received through Kentucky’s Research Challenge Trust Fund, were used to establish six endowed chairs in the Speed School, the law school, and in arts and sciences.
