Planning a Visit

Before You Visit

Because some of our materials are not cataloged, you may wish to contact Archives and Special Collections prior to your visit in order to explore other materials.

Please see Using Archival & Manuscript Materials in the ASC Research Room for information about what you should bring with you (photo identification!) and what you cannot keep with you in the research room (although lockers are available to store those items while you work).

Meals During Your Visit

The Ekstrom Library, which houses Archives & Special Collections, is also home to the Tulip Tree Cafe, which offers Heine Brothers coffee, baked goods and sandwiches. The Tulip Tree Cafe is located on the first floor of Ekstrom Library, near the Third Street entrance. The Swain Student Activities Center houses several fast food restaurants. The Cardinal Towne complex a short walk from the library features many dining options.

Archives & Special Collections is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No materials will be pulled after 4:30 pm. We are closed on university holidays, and when Ekstrom Library is closed.
