McDonald's Black History Makers of Today: Tia Lee, TRIO Upward Bound Program Participant

On February 3, 2021, University of Louisville TRIO Upward Bound Program participant, Tia Lee, was featured on WHAS11 Great Day Live for being a recipient of the McDonald’s Black History Makers of Today Scholarship.  Tia is a senior at Ballard High School (Jefferson County Public Schools) and has participated in the University of Louisville TRIO Upward Bound Program since November 2017.  Tia was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from McDonald’s Owners and Operators of Greater Louisville and Lexington (Kentucky) and Southern Indiana. Tia plans to attend the University of Louisville in the Fall of 2021 and double major in American Sign Language and Spanish.  Tia is another great example that TRIO Works!
