The goal of TRIO programs is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
What do participants receive?
The programs provide opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.
Academic Guidance
Participants will have access to tutoring, counseling, mentoring, cultural enrichment, work-study programs, and services designed to improve financial and economic literacy.
Employment Opportunities
The Secondary School Outreach Programs office is always accepting applications for part-time temporary positions that will be filled during our academic year and summer operating periods.
The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO), Upward Bound and Talent Search, are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO Programs in the Secondary School Outreach Programs office at the University of Louisville are targeted to serve and assist low-income and first-generation college students to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs.
