The Gray Street Farmers Market began in 2009 as an outreach program of the UofL School of Public Health and Information Sciences, which is done in partnership with Common Earth Gardens (Catholic Charities) and Louisville Metro Dept. of Public Health & Wellness. The goal of the market is to increase access to fresh, locally grown food in the downtown area. Food access and food insecurity are major problems in Louisville.
