CURRICULUM VITAE

Dr. Nicholas C. Peiper (MPH, PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences. He received an MPH in Health Behavior from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Louisville in 2013. Dr. Peiper is a psychiatric epidemiologist with 15 years of applied experience designing, implementing, and evaluating clinical and population-based interventions to address mental health, substance use, and associated health and social problems. He has been Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator, and Project Director of numerous grants and contracts from multiple federal agencies, including SAMHSA, HRSA, DOJ, CDC, and NIH. His current work investigates risk factors and health outcomes associated with the drug overdose epidemic and injection drug use. Dr. Peiper is also a Senior Scientist at Meru Health, a mental health provider that prevents and treats depression, anxiety, and chronic stress through smartphone-based interventions. He provides scientific direction and oversight for Meru Health’s research division that leverages a rapidly growing clinical database to evaluate outcomes and develop precision care technologies for clinicians.
