Professional Experience
Dr. Kim Linnear's professional journey in higher education spans over fifteen years and includes significant roles at various institutions. She served as the Population Science Research Program Manager at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, Office of Community Outreach, Engagement, and Equity, where she provided ongoing program evaluation and guidance for evidence-based programs. Her leadership skills were further honed during her tenure as the Executive Director for the Office of Grants Development and Compliance at Tarrant County College. She also contributed to the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC) as the Associate Director for the Texas Prevention Institute. Her expertise have been highlighted through her work as a Principal Investigator/Program Director on grants funded by the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities, the Center for Disease Control, the National Cancer Institute, the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, and the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas.
Dr. Linnear's academic journey demonstrates her commitment to continuous learning and professional development. She earned her undergraduate degree from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, and her master’s in public administration from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, focusing on human resources and organizational development. Her academic pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. in Health Studies from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, and she is a Certified Health Education Specialist.
