"Incorporating Inclusive Teaching Practices into a Graduate Biostatistics Course"

Inclusive teaching aims to intentionally approach teaching decisions to foster the classroom climate, design the course pedagogy, and tailor the course content to respond to students from diverse backgrounds with varied experiences. This talk will discuss examples of how to integrate inclusive teaching practices into a graduate biostatistics course. In particular, the examples shared will focus on approachable modifications that can be made to an existing course to create a more welcoming climate with more effective pedagogy. While the examples stem from a graduate course on statistical methods for correlated data, the illustrated inclusive teaching practices are generalizable to other courses.
