Emma Friday has earned a 2023 Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic at the Jordan Language Academy in Amman, Jordan.

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students fully funded by the State Department. The program aims to broaden the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and build relationships between the people of the United States and other countries.

This is the first national award I have received, and I am excited to study Arabic alongside other students who are as invested in language learning as I am."

Undergraduate Achievements:

Will graduate in May 2024 with a double-major in political science and French.
