Caleb He has earned the Boren Scholarship to study Urdu at the American Institute of Indian Studies in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Boren Scholarships, sponsored by the National Security Education Program, provide undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study with funding for up to one year of immersive study abroad in languages and regions of interest to U.S. national security.

“I’m a first-generation immigrant student. Neither of my parents speak proficient English nor have attained an education beyond middle school. Being chosen for this prestigious award to study Urdu in India is a culminating event in my undergraduate career, and I could not have done it without the support of my family, professors and friends."
