Liz Turner has earned a Mary Churchill Humphrey Scholarship to pursue a master's degree at the Aga Khan University (AKU) in London, United Kingdom.

UofL has made possible those things which always seemed impossible to me, a student hailing from a low-income household: college in general, study abroad and now, graduate-level education."

Undergraduate Achievements:

Isabella graduated in May 2021 with bachelor's degrees in political science and Spanish.


Drs. Bethany Smith and Charlie Leonard, who oversee national and international scholarships at UofL; Luke Buckman, assistant director for student programming and development; Dr. Khaldoun Almousily, program coordinator for Arabic language and a faculty member of the Middle East and Islamic Studies program; Shereen Abdelhalim, lecturer of modern standard Arabic in the Middle East and Islamic Studies program.
