KY INBRE offers opportunities for experience in biomedical research to interested undergraduate students through several mentored research programs
Student Undergrad Research Program (SURP)
KY INBRE funds up to 20 undergraduate students annually to participate in summer biomedical research under the supervision of faculty mentors who are actively engaged in research at the University of Louisville or the University of Kentucky. Learn more
Faculty Mentored Student-Research Experiences during Academic Year
This program provides part-time mentored research opportunities for undergraduate students during the academic year (and summer) at their home institution under the guidance of KY INBRE-supported research faculty. Learn more
To continue to increase biomedical research capacity in Kentucky, KY INBRE offers competitive support programs to recruit new researchers to Kentucky institutions (Start-Up Awards), assist existing faculty to develop competitive research programs (Investigator Development Awards), to train the next generation of research faculty (Postdoctoral Awards), and assist successful researchers to maintain their independent NIH funding (Bridge Awards).
