As part of the 21st Century Initiative, a Strategic Planning and Implementation Group (SPIG) was formed within the Office of the Provost. SPIG members are:

- Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs (Tracy Eells)
- Vice Provost for Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Analytics (Robert Goldstein)
- Vice Provost for Academic Strategy (David Hein)
- Vice Provost and Chief Budget Officer (Susan Howarth)
- Associate Provost and Director of the Delphi Center (Gale Rhodes)
- Vice Provost for Diversity and International Affairs (Mordean Taylor-Archer)
SPIG is chaired by the Vice Provost for Academic Strategy. The Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost (Blair Cade) provides management support for the strategic planning and implementation process.
