Internet Acceptable Use
This policy applies to the University Community (administrators, faculty, staff, and students).
The University's Internet service may be provided through multiple vendors. University administrators, faculty, staff and students must abide by the terms of service that provide the guidelines for the conduct and activities that are permitted on the Internet, as well as activities (such as hacking and spamming) that may be illegal or are prohibited due to an impact on security and privacy.
REASON FOR POLICY
Internet service is provided to the University under the terms and conditions of an Acceptable Use Policy from the service provider. An Internet connection can be used to access information and other services outside the control of either the University or the Vendor. The Acceptable Use policy provides the guidelines for the conduct and activities that are permitted on the Internet, as well as activities that are prohibited.
Internet service providers to the university change over time. For more information on the Internet and the Acceptable Use Policy, please see the IT web site, or contact the IT helpdesk at 502-852-7997.
