This track is designed to prepare early childcare professionals to deliver high-quality, effective and diverse education to young learners in Pre-K classrooms
This program is ideal for those who do not have an academic background in education or related prior work experience but would like to work as an early childhood educator (birth through age 5 learners). The Alternative Certification path allows students to be employed full-time on a provisional teaching certification—giving students the chance to put their skills to immediate use and gain real-world classroom experience. 36 credit hour program. Tuition reduction applies.
This program is ideal for those who do not have an academic background in education, but would like to get certified to teach students with disabilities. The Alternative Certification path requires students to be employed full-time on a provisional teaching certification—allowing students to put their skills to immediate use and gain real-world classroom experience. 30-36 credit hour program depending on your concentration. Concentrations available in Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) or Moderate to Severe Disabilities (MSD). Tuition reduction applies.
This program is designed primarily for certified teachers who want to develop leadership skills that can impact and influence students and peers. Our curriculum is structured to strengthen skills in assessment, evaluation, curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. 30 credit hour program. Concentrations are available in: Autism Spectrum Disorder and Enhanced Content. Tuition reduction applies.
The Master’s in Special Education is designed for licensed teachers who are looking to become certified to teach Special Education in Kentucky. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation in special education theory and methods, as well as teaching experience. 30-36 credit hour program Concentrations available in Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) or Moderate to Severe Disabilities (MSD). Tuition reduction applies.
The online Master of Education in Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behavior Analysis is designed for non-licensed teachers and professionals who want to develop expertise in applied behavior analysis without obtaining a teaching license.
The TEIL graduate certificate will prepare you to effectively teach English in a wide variety of professional or global settings that do not require a teaching license or certification. 12 credit hours. 1 year to complete.
Out-of-State Students
Out-of-state candidates who are certified teachers should be advised
that we cannot guarantee the program will meet licensure, salary,
advancement or other requirements in their state. As part of the
admission process, we will require a written statement confirming
their interest in our program for personal development and that they
understand that UofL’s programs are designed to meet Kentucky
certification requirements only.
