Interested in serving on the 2023-2024 SBA? Find out more!

Interested in running? Here's what you need to do:

1. Sign up on the SBA’s Google Sign-Up sheet.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BCEZktoVvgmxwSfg8VlccL30KabGhuVORmqTklHWuS4/edit?usp=sharing

2. Attend an interest meeting:

Tuesday, February 21 from 12:00PM-12:30PM on Microsoft Teams;
Wednesday, February 22 from 11:00AM-11:30AM on Microsoft Teams;
Thursday, February 23 from 6:30PM-7:00PM on Microsoft Teams; or
Friday, February 24 from 7:00PM-7:30PM on Microsoft Teams;

3. You must read the Constitution and Bylaws posted on the Student Bar Association’s Engage page/portal.

4. At the interest meeting, you will sign a Statement of Candidacy declaring what position you are seeking and that you have read and understood the responsibilities of your job. At the interest meeting potential candidates will have an opportunity to ask questions about campaigning or slates. The Statement of Candidacy is to be signed electronically and emailed to Danielle Tackett (dbtack01@louisville.edu).

5. Please note: candidates for Honor Council may NOT campaign in any fashion and need not read the SBA’s bylaws and constitution. An interest meeting is not necessary for Honor Council positions only, but students running for Honor Council positions will still need to sign up on the Google Sign-Up sheet.

If you cannot make it to one of the above-listed times, reach out to Danielle Tackett (dbtack01@louisville.edu) to find a time that works. All candidates must have signed the Statement of Candidacy and attended an interest meeting by Monday, February 27th at 5:00 p.m.

The official campaigning period will begin on Tuesday, February 28th at 9:00 a.m. with polls open from Monday, March 6th at 9:00 a.m. to Friday, March 10th at 9:00 a.m. The results are tentative until Saturday, March 11th at 9:00 a.m, which is the end of the 24-hour challenge period. After that time, the preliminary results will become final. Any challenges to the results can be made to an SBA elections committee member.
