1L Louisville Athletics Adidas Internship Program 2020-2021

The internship is an opportunity available to 1L law students interested in sports law or regulatory compliance. The U of L Athletics department partners with Adidas to offer a two-year paid internship (spanning two, 10-month academic years). Application deadline is April 1, 2020. The University of Louisville, seeks qualified applicants for a NCAA Compliance & Law Adidas Intern.  The Intern will gain valuable experience and professional development in the areas of recruiting activities, financial aid, camps/clinics, agents, initial and continuing eligibility, rules education, interpretations, Academic Performance Rate, and, if a current law student, legal research and writing legal memoranda under the guidance of university counsel.

Responsibilities: Assist with rules education • Assist with monitoring efforts in the areas of recruiting activities, student-athlete employment, initial and continuing eligibility, and playing season regulations • Assist with data management and monitoring for Compliance Assistant, JumpForward, and PeopleSoft Software • Assist with the preparation and organization of required NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference forms and reports • Assist with the preparation and distribution of the National Letter of Intent for incoming student-athletes • Assist with Financial Aid agreements for incoming and continuing student-athletes  • Assist with legal research and legal memoranda preparation.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Current Graduate or Professional School Enrollment preferred; Strong interest in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics in NCAA compliance; Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail; Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends and commitment to working in a team-oriented environment.
