In directing the RETCC, Dr. Hein partners with Dr. Daniel Conklin who serves as co-director.  Dr. Hein is pleased to continue to serve in continued partnership with Dr. Conklin as Director of RETCC for the renewal proposal. Dr. Hein served as founding director of the NIEHS T32 predoctoral and postdoctoral training program at the University of Louisville and transitioned to multi-PI last year.  Dr. Hein coordinates joint training modules and other training activities between the NIEHS-funded RETCC and T32 trainees. Dr. Hein’s research program incorporates precision environmental health and precision medicine.  More recently he has been active in communicating the adverse effects from burning fossil fuels, including VOCs, to community citizen groups in Louisville and the surrounding region.
