Dr. Andrew Zhao

In Summer 2023, Dr. Jianhua (Andrew) Zhao traveled to Shanghai, China to conduct field research on China’s high fashion industry. The project is supported by an EVPRI grant at UofL. Dr. Zhao initially started this project in 2016, but it was interrupted by the COVID pandemic for nearly four years. During Summer 2023, Dr. Zhao visited and revisited several fashion houses in Shanghai, conducted interviews with fashion designers, their customers, workers and staff members of the fashion houses, and officials of Shanghai International Fashion Federation. The photos included are taken by Dr. Zhao during his field research this summer.
