Margaret O’Bryan
ETSCORN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AWARD
UofL junior Margaret O’Bryan has been awarded a 2018 Etscorn International Research Award. UofL awards the $5,000 Irvin F. and Alice S. Etscorn International Summer Research Award to promising undergraduates interested in conducting international research over the summer.
O’Bryan will use the award to take part in a Russian Studies program at Middlebury Institution of International Studies, Monterey, California.
“The significance of this award can be categorized. First, the significance of the financial aid. The Etscorn Scholarship has a cap of $5,000, which I have received the full amount. The second significance of the award is the learning opportunity that I am able to take advantage of.”

Inspired By
My Russian Studies Professor, Thomas Dumstorf, is someone I would like to thank for helping me achieve this honor. His dedication to his classes and students and his massive knowledge on the subject is admirable. In the two years I have had him as a professor, he has taught me more on the subject than I thought possible.
