Barbra Cave, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a three-time graduate of Bellarmine University. She completed her degree in Biology in 2003, her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2005, and her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2010. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She leads the Jewish Hospital Hepatitis C Clinic and serves as a Co- or Sub-Investigator on the multitude of Gastroenterology/Hepatology clinical trials within the UofL Clinical Trials Unit. Her interests include Viral Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC), Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and liver transplantation. Her background includes 5 years of experience as a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse at Jewish Hospital’s Neuroscience and Transplant ICU. Barbra is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), and the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives (KCNPNM).
