Thomas Maloney

Professor of Philosophy Distinguished Teaching Professor Vice Chair & Undergraduate Advisor, Department of Philosophy


Prof. Maloney’s specializiation is medieval philosophy, but he also teaches courses in ancient Greek philosophy and philosophy of religion.  His research area is medieval logic and semantics, with a focus on Roger Bacon.  He is currently working on a new Latin edition and translation of Bacon’s Compendium studii philosophiae and a translation of Bacon’s Moralia, a section of Bacon’s Opus maius presenting his moral philosophy.
