Prof. Owen’s research interests are mainly in social philosophy, including critical race theory, the philosophy of diversity, Habermas, and the Frankfurt School. His previous publications and current projects include developing a philosophical approach to diversity and a critical theory of whiteness that will explain the structural and unconscious mechanisms by which racial oppression is reproduced.
