Won Joo Ahn is a lecturer in the Choral Department at the University of Louisville, where she directs the University Chorus and Women’s Chorus and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conducting. Ahn received her DMA degree in 2020 from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign where she studied with Dr. Andrew Megill. Her dissertation focused on the selected works by Estonian Composer, Galina Grigorjeva. During her doctorate studies, she directed a treble choir, Illini Women. Ahn earned her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Louisville under Dr. Kent Hatteberg, and she graduated as valedictorian in receiving her Bachelor of Music from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
