Michael Ramach has written, directed and produced over 200 plays, music theatre pieces, operas and experimental productions in his 20-year tenure as a theatrical professional.

Mr. Ramach was the Founder and Producing Director of Triangle Theatre Company in New York City for eight seasons. At La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York, where he also worked as an administrator, he directed various original works including BRECHT'S BERLIN, which he also wrote. Mr. Ramach has directed extensively throughout the United States. As an administrator, he has worked as Producing Director of Theatre X in Milwaukee, Producing Director of Timber Lake Playhouse, General Manager of the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival and Production Coordinator at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

For the past five years he has worked on the production staff of the Kentucky Opera. He directed the world premieres of MUHAMMAD ALI; OUTSIDE THE RING, CHASING A PRECEDENT and NYIRAMACHABELLI for the Kentucky Opera Visions Program. He also wrote and directed a full-length pastiche for the Kentucky Opera for the Great American Voices Program, a National Endowment for the Arts program to be performed at military bases. He has been commissioned to write and direct a new piece for the Educational Program for the 2006-2007 season.

Mr. Ramach is a lecturer at the University of Louisville where he is the co-director of the opera theatre program. Mr. Ramach has an M.F.A. in directing from Webster University and a B.F.A. in music theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University.
