About

Madelin Shelton, of Owenton, Ky., is member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2022 at the University of Louisville where she studies political science and philosophy.

She is a 2018 graduate of Owen County High School, where she earned valedictorian honors and served as class vice president. She was president of the Interact Club, Civics Club and Y-Club, in addition to serving as secretary of the National Honor Society and volleyball representative for the O-Club. Since my sophomore year (of high school), I have known about the incredible opportunities available within the McConnell Scholars Program. I have made it a goal of mine to become a McConnell Scholar, and I am incredibly grateful for the chance to grow as a scholar and citizen over the next four years.
