Shelby is a graduate of Corbin High School, where he graduated with honors and distinction. He served as a class officer, a member of FBLA, STLP, Key Club, and Y club. He participated in the Kentucky Youth Assembly for eight years. Shelby is the son of Sean and Angela Disney.

The McConnell Center stands as a beacon of leadership, scholarship, and service; nurturing academic excellence while making impactful contributions to Kentucky.
