Shelby Disney, of Corbin, Ky., is a member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2025 at the University of Louisville where he is studying economics and political science.

High School

Shelby is a graduate of Corbin High School, where he graduated with honors and distinction. He served as a class officer, a member of FBLA, STLP, Key Club, and Y club. He participated in the Kentucky Youth Assembly for eight years. Shelby is the son of Sean and Angela Disney. 

I am immensely honored to be selected as a recipient of the McConnell Scholarship. The McConnell Center stands as a beacon of leadership, scholarship, and service; nurturing academic excellence while making impactful contributions to Kentucky. I eagerly anticipate embracing all the dimensions of community and scholarly opportunities that this program holds for me in the coming four years.
