High School

Sawyer is a graduate of Highlands High School, where he earned AP Scholar with Distinction honors and a National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation. He was named MVP of the football team and participated on the state champion We The People team. He was choir president and founder of the men's choir; a member of the National Honor, English, Spanish and Math Societies; and member of the leadership council. Sawyer, the son of Rob and Ansley Depp, was a 2019 Kentucky Governor's Scholar.

The McConnell Program is known for its character-building discourse that leads to a deeper understanding of societal issues. Problems are solved when unlike-minded, intelligent individuals engage in civil debate. The program provides the necessary content, environment and community to promote positive change and develop leadership skills foundational to my future.
