Sifat E Rahman is a second-year Ph.D. student who joined University of Louisville after earning her BS and MS in Criminology from University of Dhaka. While attending DU, Rahman worked with the DMP and Counter terrorism unit to conduct research on Investigation and Prosecution of Violent Extremism Cases in Bangladesh. Afterwards, she presented a paper of their findings at an international conference organized in India. Later in her undergraduate career, Rahman collaborated with the Asia Foundation on project of Justice Mechanisms for the Displaced Rohingyas in Addressing Crimes and Reconciliations. Currently, she is a graduate teaching assistant to Dr George E. Higgins. Rahman’s interests are vested in seeking the link between past trauma and juvenile delinquency through academic research. Her specific areas of focus include terrorism, juvenile delinquency and cold cases.
