Virginia is a Licensed Private Investigator specializing in violent crimes, cold cases, and wrongful convictions, as well as a Behavioral Analyst/Criminal Profiler, Chaplain, and a Certified Hostage Negotiator. She has worked in the criminal justice field as a victim's advocate, private investigator, behavioral analyst/criminal profiler, investigative consultant, and trainer/educator for more than 20 years, serving private clients, various Innocence Projects, as well as law enforcement agencies both in the U.S. and abroad. Her research interests include wrongful convictions, police and prosecutor misconduct, behavioral analysis, and geographic profiling. She currently teaches courses in wrongful convictions and cold case investigations at the undergraduate and graduate level.
