Kristin M. Swartz received her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at University of Cincinnati in 2012. Her research interests tend to center on how offending and victimization are shaped by context, with a special focus on the role of cultural effects in the contexts of schools, neighborhoods, and social networks. Kristin also has strong interests in the sources of fear of crime, the influence of correctional policies on communities, and urban violence. Kristin has recently had works published in Violence and Victims,Youth Violence and Juvenile Justice, and Victims and Offenders. She teaches in areas of criminological theory and corrections.
