Dennis retired at the rank of captain from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office in Reno, Nevada after 22 years of service. His comprehensive career includes experience in detention, patrol, courts, and traffic enforcement, and he previously served as the Director of the Northern Nevada Regional Intelligence Center. As an instructor, Dennis engaged students in both academic programs and practical applications in topics of police practice, Evidence-Based Policing, and leadership development.
A graduate of the 141st Administrative Officers Course, Dennis holds a PhD in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, along with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville.
