About
I grew up in Oldham County, Kentucky. I earned a BA in Anthropology from the University of California Santa Cruz, spending a semester abroad in Indonesia. After earning my Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University, I moved to Seattle and worked with children and adults experiencing sexual, family, and intimate partner violence in various roles for 14 years. I moved back to Kentucky in 2008 and have been working in recruiting and admissions for Kent School’s MSSW program ever since.
Research interests: My research interests in the MA Anthropology program are: humanitarian aid, voluntourism and other service/learning abroad programs, environmental justice and political ecology, specifically development pressures and land dispossession.
