About

Janet Kelly is a Professor of Urban and Public Affairs and Executive Director of the Urban Studies Institute at the University of Louisville. Her research is focused on state and local government finance and economic development. Professor Kelly also holds four professional certifications in public finance and accounting.

As Executive Director of the Urban Studies Institute, she directs applied economic and demographic research projects for government, nonprofit and private sector clients in the Louisville region and statewide. Proceeds from the projects are used to support graduate assistantships and internships in the Department of Urban and Public Affairs.

Janet lives in Audubon Park with her husband Mike and their two labs, Daffodil and Petunia. She is an avid gardener and a member of the Audubon Park Garden Club.
