CHOT Fall 2019 Meeting in Seattle, WA

Follow this link for information about the CHOT Center-wide Fall Meeting at the University of Washington in Seattle, October 17-18, 2019.

During this gathering, all industry partners, interested guests, faculty, and student researchers will discuss results from last year’s projects and collaborate on new research proposals for next year’s research and work. All UofL members and prospective members are invited and welcome to participate in the synergy of this joint meeting.

Recent News 

  • Congratulations to CHOT Graduate Research Assistant Kelsey White, lead author of “Distress and Self-care Among  Chaplains Working in Palliative Care,” recently published in Palliative & Supportive Care.

    Kelsey found the experience to be extremely rewarding, noting, “Researching and writing about a concept such as distress increased my consideration for the complexity of  the measurement of abstract and often fluid concepts. Overall, the study is helping direct my future research questions about how different clinical professionals may be impacted by distress and burnout in healthcare.” Congratulations to Kelsey.   • Health Management faculty member, Dr. Robert Esterhay was appointed as the leader of the Telehealth In novation Workgroup of the Kentucky Telehealth Association on July 9, 2018. He will oversee the work of the committee and subcommittees, which are responsible for conducting research on innovation and trends in telehealth, and making recommendations to the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Current trends in telehealth innovation include health systems innovation through telePharmacy, asynchronous telehealth services to manage chronic diseases, remote patient monitoring for underserved populations, and mental and behavioral health innovations utilizing telehealth advances and legislative changes to increase access to and reduce the cost of care.
