About

Mark Martinez is the Assistant Director of Diversity and Community Engagement at Brandeis Law School. Mark joined the Brandeis community in July 2023 after serving in higher education, DEIB, and nonprofit work for the past 8 years. He earned his BA in Anthropology and Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Mark’s research interests include continental philosophy, critical race and feminist theory, media theory, and posthumanism. He is committed to providing students greater connection, deliberation and debate, community engagement, and professional skills through DEIB, and to engender positive change to the culture at Brandeis.
