Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Dr. Mordean Taylor-Archer's Service to UofL

Valerie Owens Combs, the Director of Development for Diversity Initiatives, is currently raising funds to honor Dr. Mordean Taylor-Archer for the 18 years she has served as Vice Provost for Diveristy and International Affairs at UofL. Dr. Taylor-Archer retired on June 30, 2019. The funds raised for the endowment of a scholarship will go to fund students involved in one of the diversity initiatives. The Interim Senior Associate Vice President for the Office of Diversity and Equity

Congratulations to Dr. Faye Jones, professor of pediatrics and associate vice president for health affairs/diversity initiatives at the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center, who has accepted my offer to serve as the interim senior associate vice president for the newly created Office of Diversity and Equity. She will assume the senior AVP role effective Aug. 1.  Dr. Jones is a product of Kentucky public higher education, she earned her B.S. in biology from Western Kentucky University and her M.D., Ph.D. and Master of Science in Public Health degrees from UofL.

Lonnie G. Bunch III, the 14th secretary of the Smithsonian, currently oversees 19 museums, 21 libraries, the National Zoo, numerous research centers, and several education units and centers. Join Dr. Bendapudi as she hosts Secretary Bunch for a moderated discussion on the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Light lunch will be served for the first 100 in attendance. RSVP no later than Sept. 18 via email.
