It’s called “Modern Day Slavery: Breaking the Chains” –sponsored by UofL’s Women 4 Women student chapter. Among the guest speakers for the event – Theresa Flores – who was coerced into trafficking and slavery while living in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit. At Just 15 years old, she was drugged, raped, and tortured for two years. But stories like Flores’ are more common than you think.
