Graduate teaching assistantship

The Department of Women's and Gender Studies has one graduate teaching assistantship, which is awarded in the spring semester to begin in the following fall semester (and may be renewed for one additional year). The student awarded the assistantship must maintain full-time status (9 hours per semester) and must not be employed during the two semesters of the assistantship. The assistantship provides tuition, a stipend of $12,000, and health insurance. The student holding the assistantship is expected to devote 20 hours a week to the Women's and Gender Studies Department as a research assistant, classroom assistant, or classroom instructor.

The Women's and Gender Studies graduate assistantship is not open to students in the dual degree program with the Kent School of Social Work.

Incoming students with completed application materials, and continuing students may apply for the assistantship by completing the application form.

For academic year 2016-2017, the application deadline is March 1, 2016.
