Update from David Dunn on Sept. 22 Heart Walk

by David L. Dunn, MD, PhD, honorary chair, UofL 2012 Heart Walk Campaign, executive vice president for health affairs, UofL last modified Sep 14, 2012 09:44 AM

We are barely a week away from the Sept. 22 Heart Walk. I can’t give enough thanks to all of you who are either serving as team captains or as participants.

Each of you is again showing that all of us at UofL are trying to make a difference in the fight against heart disease.

We still have one more prize left to award — that for the highest overall fundraiser. Just a reminder that we are providing that person with two tickets to the UofL/UK basketball game this season.

I want to give you a quick update on where we stand overall. UofL has raised nearly $17,000 of our goal of $35,000. If each of our walkers can raise another $80 we will be able to reach our goal. There still is plenty of time for you to join in the effort.  If you have not already signed up to walk on Sept. 22, and/or would like to make a donation click here and take part in the fun.

Another interesting tidbit is that UofL is second among all companies in Kentucky who are taking part in the Heart Walk. We trail only Kindred Health. But General Electric is less than $500 behind us.

Now is the time for all of us to show that at UofL helping fund research to beat heart disease is Happening Here.

Don’t forget your Card wear on Sept. 22.
