UofL Cares Spotlight: Charting Our Course

by UofL Today last modified Nov 12, 2010 05:39 PM

Each Friday, the UofL Cares campaign will spotlight a charitable organization on UofL Today to showcase the benefits or positive outcomes of supporting its cause. This week's feature is on the university's Charting Our Course campaign:

The University of Louisville kicked off its Charting Our Course campaign Wednesday night with great fanfare and inspiring stories of what the university has achieved to date and the plans for the future.  The goal of the campaign is to raise $750 million by June 2013 to meet the 2020 strategic plan of becoming a nationally recognized research institution.

UofL faculty, staff and retirees can join the Charting Our Course campaign by making a gift through UofL Cares.  After all, giving begins at home.

The University of Louisville is the economic and educational engine of the community. The university advances dreams by educating and inspiring students, strengthening and growing the local economy, expanding knowledge through research and creative endeavors. It is the place that trains and prepares the next generation of healthcare professionals, educators, lawyers, engineers, social workers, business leaders, researchers and artists who continue to work to make  the community the best it can be for years to come.

Giving to the University of Louisville through the UofL Cares Campaign helps the insitution achieve its goals.  Donors may designate their gift to the UofL school or college of their choice, or to the UofL Libraries. Gifts may also be designated to a specific academic department, research area, scholarship, institute, UofL Hospital or the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.

In the Charting Our Course Campaign, every dollar counts-and giving through the UofL Cares campaign is a great way to stand up and be counted. Gifts may be made through payroll deduction or by sending in a check or credit card information. Instructions are available at
